Do Need special Skills?

No, the only skills you need to start is the ability to breathe. Deep, regular breathing, with the focus on the breath. At Tantra Awakenings, we provide guidance and instruction throughout the whole process, enabling you to fully immerse yourself in the meditative experience.

Passive and Active Meditation

Traditionally, meditation has been practiced through passive sitting and self-observation - "Vipassana". In the past, passive sitting and observation was much easier than it is today where we are faced with increased mental and physical activities. Sitting down and attempting to still our thoughts and body and relax, can create more tension and conflict within ourselves. Active meditation provides an alternative, and promotes a greater sense of awareness, centeredness and relaxation. Active meditation is the process of witnessing while being engaged in activity helping to release stress, rebalance the mind and body bringing about physical and mental relaxation.

Whatever your reasons for meditation, Tantra Awakenings will guide you through both passive and active meditations. All of these meditations have been used in our Tantra workshops and can be incorporated into your Tantric practices. Equally, they can be used as a stand alone home practice between daily and weekly intervals, depending upon which meditation feels best for you. The sessions will be tailored to your requirements to enable you to get the most from your time.

Tantra Awakenings offers guided meditations which focus on the Chakras, or energy centres in the body, to initiate expansion of the consciousness, to experience each of the Chakras and give you an energy boost and further gentle techniques to release the accumulated stress, focus the mind and aid relaxation. Additionally, techniques to accelerate personal transformation are offered, using these transformative techniques it is possible and natural that feelings and emotions will arise as old thought forms are released.
